How to Order Coffee in Singapore

i wish this infographic had been available back when i was new in singapore. it would have saved me a lot of time and stress trying to translate what i wanted to the (usually) old auntie/uncle who sells coffee in the hawker centers.

i'm not allowed to drink coffee these days, but i hope you find this useful! enjoy!

A Feature in Blog Expat

This is very delayed post. Last month, I was contacted by Erin of EasyExpat for an interview that was posted in the website. The site is a nice community where you get to read about different expat experiences. You get to learn how different people deal with life overseas, like raising kids in another country and getting used to the cultural differences.

Please do hop on over there to check out my interview, check out the other blogs and take a look at useful articles about overseas living.

Thanks Erin and EasyExpat for the feature!

The 2014 Reading Challenge

I think 2013 was a good year for me on the book-reading end. I was able to complete my 25-book challenge for the year, and I'm quite happy about that. For 2014, I think I'll be able to manage a couple more books, so I'm aiming for 30. Adding five more will surely not be such a stretch, but we'll see.

My guiding word for 2014

I have long given up on having New Year's resolutions. There was a time when, every year, a few days before Jan. 1 comes, I'd sit down somewhere quiet and list down the things I wanted to change about myself for the coming year. And yes, almost 100% of the time, January hasn't even ended and I've broken at least one of my resolutions.

For example, I would resolve to lose weight and eat healthily (this is a constant on my list! haha). But what do I do on the first day of the year? I would gorge on the leftover food from the previous night's celebrations. So the whole year would just be this whole cycle of falling off track, getting back on...and so on and so forth. I usually end up discouraged and disappointed with myself.

I'm back! Happy New Year!

Hello there! Happy New Year to you and your families!

Pardon the silence on this space. JP and I have been unpacking stuff we brought from the Philippines, and also doing a bit of spring cleaning around the house. Our vacation was short, but we were able to spend time with both our families, plus managed a day at the beach!
